Responsibilities
As a Business Manager, you will act as a true business driver, taking 360° ownership of your business area and leading its commercial, people, financial and strategic development.
Client Relationship & Business Development
- Identify, approach and develop a portfolio of key accounts, including large groups, mid-sized companies and industrial companies.
- Understand your clients’ business, technical and human challenges.
- Identify opportunities, respond to RFPs and build tailored business proposals.
- Lead negotiations and close deals.
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships and position Afixen as a strategic partner.
Talent Acquisition & Team Management
- Attract, recruit and retain top engineering and project management talent.
- Build and scale your own team.
- Lead with high standards, clarity and empathy.
- Support individual and team skills development and performance.
- Foster a strong team culture focused on excellence and collective success.
Business Unit Performance & Financial Management
- Own the economic performance of your Business Unit: revenue, margin and profitability.
- Track and manage KPIs, including revenue, margin, staffing rate, conversion rate and growth.
- Define and execute corrective action plans when needed.
- Contribute to the long-term development of your Business Unit, including new offerings, partnerships and expansion.
Entrepreneurial Dimension
- Operate as a business owner within the group.
- Actively contribute to improving our tools, processes and strategy.
- Play a key role in launching and structuring future Afixen offices.
- Commit to a long-term entrepreneurial journey with genuine partnership prospects.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent from an engineering or business school.
- Proven experience in business development, consulting, IT services or an entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong business mindset and a genuine interest in creating value.
- You are structured, analytical and results-driven.
- Natural leadership skills and ability to engage and align teams.
- Comfortable managing complex sales cycles with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, procurement teams and technical leaders.
- Fluent in English and French; Dutch is a plus.
